Konica Minolta, Inc. announced a breakthrough technique for assessing pulmonary regurgitation (PR) severity, developed by a research team from Kyushu University. This method utilizes Konica Minolta's Dynamic Digital Radiography (DDR) to provide a rapid and simple evaluation, particularly beneficial for patients post-surgery for Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a common congenital heart defect. The study showed that the new technique demonstrates a strong correlation with cardiac MRI measurements and offers high diagnostic accuracy. This advancement could improve post-surgical monitoring efficiency and accessibility, particularly in areas with limited medical resources, serving as an alternative for patients unable to undergo cardiac MRI. The findings were published in the journal Radiology.
